Rotary Hutt City works with youth, local schools, and community groups to assist with projects or funding to help them achieve their goals.
One of our major fundraising projects was the biennial Shapeshifter Sculpture exhibition and the Fire Sculptures as part of the Petone Winter Carnival. This year our new and exciting project was Innovative Young Minds. A week-long science and technology programme for young women. Visit www.iym.co.nz for more information
We have also spent many years involved in the Hutt River Trail. Our goal was to have a river trail from Petone to Akatarawa on both sides of the river. We are nearly there! This project has seen us partner with the Wellington Regional Council, Hutt City Council and other Rotary groups in the Hutt Valley.
We also provide support to international projects and support the Eradicate Polio Campaign and projects in East Timor, Ethiopia and the RUCHI project in India. We raise funds for Emergency Response Kits, Shelter boxes and much more.
