We were thrilled with the number of applications we had for this year's national programme. The interviews have been completed by Rotary Clubs around New Zealand who have done a fantastic job in supporting the programme. It has been a huge task and involved hundreds of volunteer hours.
My feedback has been that it was hard to choose which student to nominate because the calibre of applicants was so high! We are encouraging any year 11 student who missed out this year to reapply again next year.
Our apologies for not getting back to the students on the 10 May as promised. We had a few students that hadn't been interviewed and we needed to be fair, making sure all applicants were part of the selection process. It will be a much smoother process next year.
