It is with deep sadness for me to inform you all that our great friend Peter McCombs passed away peacefully on 8 January after a short illness. Peter is legendary within the Hutt City Rotary Club and will be sorely missed by everyone associated within the Club and by ex members alike.
Allan Brown will represent the Hutt City Rotary Club at the funeral on Wednesday 15 January at Old St Paul’s, 34 Mulgrave St, Wellington.

A Tribute to Peter from Tony McCombs
Congratulations to Peter and Beverley McCombs on their remarkable 60th wedding anniversary. Reaching this milestone is a testament to a life lived with love, partnership, and adventure.
In true Peter style, he wrote a playful and thoughtful card and organised flowers for Bev, anticipating he might not be able to give them to her in person. On the eve of their anniversary, Peter passed away peacefully, with Bev by his side - just as they had shared their lives, supporting, encouraging, and finding joy in one another.
Peter leaves behind a profound legacy through his career, his contributions to the community, and his cherished family. While his smile, enthusiasm, and encouragement will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.

At a Breakfast meeting in October 2024, Peter introduced Tony, who was inducted into membership of the Club.
Later, President Cameron was to award Peter a PHF (Paul Harris Fellowship) in recognition of his more than forty five years of Rotary service.
